Hunt With Solitude

Solitude Outfitters and Guides (CO Outfitters License .0003416) is a small local Steamboat Springs operation run by people who like to hunt as much or more than our clients. Our ranches are managed for low pressure elk and mule deer habitat, and our animal numbers consistently remain high throughout the hunting seasons.

Our goal is to keep our clients safe while providing an authentic western hunting experience.

Planning A Trip

Solitude Outfitters and Guides operates on a wait list. This year’s hunters get first access to next year’s dates, and unfilled spots get filled from a wait list (usually in June, after limited draw results are published).

Our standard elk and deer packages are four day hunts for groups of two hunters. Upon booking, a 50% deposit is required, and the balance due before the first day of the hunt. Contact us for our current packages, rates, and availabilities.

Solitude Outfitters and Guides provides private land guided hunting experiences in close proximatey to the many lodging and dining opportunities in Steamboat Springs, CO. If help is needed making lodging arrangements, we are happy to assist.

Tags

All OTC hunters are responsible for purchasing their own tags, and all limited draw hunters are responsible for applying for and drawing appropriate tags.

Landowner tags may be available to purchase on a limited basis. Please contact us for current availability.

New changes to Colorado’s 2025 non-resident licensing structure.

All non-residents are now required to apply for Archery hunting licenses for elk. 

Colorado Parks and Wildlife has created a new Archery Private Land Only License for Units 3,4,5,14,214,301,441, (E-E-003-P1-A) the northwest corner of the state. The private land only license will separate hunters with private land access from being pooled with non-resident public land applicants. The private land only license will have a greater draw success than applicants who may wish to hunt public and private land.

Solitude Properties are Private Lands located in big game unit 214, North of Steamboat Springs.

If Solitude Hunters wish to hunt private land and public lands in Units 14 and 214, the following hunt code applies, (E-E-014-V1-A).

Waiver And Release

Solitude Outfitters and Guides is a licensed and insured Colorado outfitter that requires a signed waiver to participate in our hunts.

Physical Fitness

Solitude Outfitters and Guides operates on private land and strategically utilizes trucks, side by sides, and atv’s to access our ranches. We don’t drive everywhere and moderate to heavy hiking is required to hunt our properties. 3-5 mile days on foot at elevations of 7,000-10,000 feet are common, and packing out game is to be expected. Please be prepared to work hard and burn some calories.

Processing And Taxidermy

Solitude Outfitters and Guides provides field dressing of harvested game. We do not provide processing, taxidermy, or shipping services but can assist with making arrangements with local processors and taxidermists.
